Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction effect and the main effect of herbfarm fertilizer and eggshell powder on the growth and production of cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata). This research has been carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru City. The study lasted for five months starting from September 2021 to January 2022. This study used a factorial completely randomized design with two factors. The first factor is the dose of herbfarm fertilizer, consisting of 4 levels, namely 0 ml, 3 ml/150ml water, 6 ml/150ml water, and 9 ml/150ml water. The second factor was the dose of egg shell powder, consisting of 4 levels, namely 0 g/plant, 2 g/plant, 4 g/plant, and 6 g/plant. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, age of shoot formation, age of harvest, plant fresh weight, crop weight, root volume and proportion of shoots to crown. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with a further test of Honest Significant Difference (BNJ) at the level of 5%. The results showed that there was a significant interaction between the treatment of herbfarm fertilizer and eggshell powder on the observation of the number of leaves, age of shoot formation, age of harvest, plant fresh weight, crop weight, and root volume. The best treatment was herbafarm fertilizer with a dose of 9 ml/150ml water and egg shell powder 6 g/plant. The main effect of herbfarm fertilizer was significant on all observation parameters. The best treatment is herbafarm fertilizer with a dose of 9 ml/150 ml of water. The main effect of eggshell powder was real on all observation parameters. The best treatment was egg shell powder with a dose of 6 g/plant.
