Abstract

The solar system is an arrangement of celestial bodies consisting of the sun as its center and the planets, meteoroids, comets, and asteroids that revolve around the sun. The circulation of celestial bodies in the form of planets and other celestial bodies around the sun is called revolution, in the solar system there are planets, moons, stars, and the sun. Many guidebooks that describe and introduce about the solar system are still deemed ineffective in providing education and information to student on the solar system. This research aims to build an application based on Augmented Reality (AR) to introduce and provide education and information on the solar system and eclipse overview. This AR application uses the ARCore SDK library and 3D displays with markerless techniques. Based on the test, this application can display solar system and eclipse overview animated in dim light with 11 light intensity and distance of 200cm.
