Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the elements of the Calempong Oguong Traditional Music Performance in Bangkinang, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. In this study, the theory used is the theory of Edi Sedyawati (1981) which is about the elements of the Performance such as Time and Performance, Players, Spectators, and Performance Equipment. The method used in this study is a descriptive analysis method using qualitative data, namely the research will be carried out by approaching the object under study and also to obtain specific and complete data. Data collection techniques that will be used are observation techniques, interview techniques and documentation techniques. The results obtained by researchers in the research on Calempong Oguong Traditional Music in Bangkinang, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, show that the elements of the Calempong Oguong Traditional Music in Bangkinang, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, have various ways of performing arts elements, including: Time and place. from morning to night and carried out in the open, the audience consisting of children, teenagers, and adults flocked to want to watch the Calempong Oguong Traditional Music performance, the Calempong Oguong Players consisted of 6 people and were specifically for teenagers and adults, the staging equipment was in the form of Malay Clothing, Stage, and musical instruments in the form of Peningkah and Golam, Instruments used for Calempong Oguong's music are Peningkah and Golam.
