Abstract

Concrete is a commonly used material in building construction due to its low cost and also because of its strength and durability when compared to other construction materials. Concrete is one of the most widely used for construction but tends to crack. And if there is a crack, it will be difficult to repair. To overcome this, a solution is needed, one of which is utilizing environmentally friendly microorganisms that can make self-healing concrete self-healing concrete. This research was conducted to find out the effect of adding vegetable waste extract and concrete waste to the compressive strength of concrete in the self-healing concrete method The method used in this study is experimental, in this preliminary test research is a compressive strength test with 10% concrete waste added from coarse aggregate and while the main test is self-healing concrete, in concrete that has been added vegetable waste extract by mixing it into mix concrete. This research was conducted with a cube of 15 cm x 15 cm x 15 cm as many as 27 specimens with variations in the percentage of bacteria 0%, 2%, 4%, 6% and 8% as a substitute for cement. Concrete testing was carried out at 28 days of treatment for compressive strength testing and testing of concrete after it was cracked. Based on the research that has been carried out on the analysis (self healing concrete) of concrete using concrete waste and vegetable waste extract, it can be concluded as follows: From the analysis and discussion, the compressive strength of concrete uses concrete waste as a substitute for 10% of coarse aggregate and extract vegetable waste with bacterial variants of 0%, 2%, 4%, 6% and 8% of the cement weight. The compressive strength value of the concrete after cracking experienced the highest increase in the 8% variation. Visually, the cracks in the concrete did not change too significantly. The concrete slowly closed the cracks along with the treatment time, on the surface of the concrete there was a chalky substance attached when the concrete was rubbed by hand. This shows the resulting lime substance, which can cover the concrete cracks, but only in small cracks with the size of soft cracks
