Abstract

The Nailed Slab Pavement System is a method of improving the performance of rigid pavements on soft soils which was developed from the Cakar Ayam Modified System to solve the problem of pavement on soft soils. The problem that often occurs in road structures that are on soft soil is soil shrinkage which can increase stress on the pavement due to uneven ground support which can accelerate damage such as bumpy roads. In this study, an analysis was conducted to determine the deformation behavior and forces in a single row pile Nailed Slab System with embankments on soft soil. This study uses data that refers to previous research (Puri, 2015). Variation of embankment (0 m; 0.5 m; 1.0 m; 1.5 m; 2,0 m ; 3 m ; 4 m ; 6 m) with loading located on the edge and in the middle of the plate. Calculation of deformation and force in plates using the finite element method with the help of the version 8.6 Plaxis program. The results of the analysis show that the increase in deformation value that occurs in the Nailed Slab Pavement System is caused by wheel load, plates and pile, and also load of embankment, so the higher the embankment the higher the deformation value. But the addition of embankment thickness did not have a significant effect on the force on the Nailed Slab Pavement System, because the increase in force value does not depend on the addition of thickness of the embankment.
