Abstract

Humans really have a desire to live comfortably. To achieve a healthier life, there are many factors that must be considered so that humans can maintain their health and clean the surrounding environment. A common problem in many countries is related to waste. Traditional markets are one of the biggest contributors to waste. All activities in the market trigger the generation of waste every day. Therefore, market management rules are needed which are clearly regulated in Perda Kabupaten Dharmasraya Nomor 9 Tahun 2015 concerning Waste Management. Management of traditional markets is the responsibility of the government as a public sector service to the community. The main problem of waste management is the limited ability of the government to deal with problems of waste production and collection. Due to the large number of people who depend on traditional markets, so the waste generated from activities in these markets. The main problem in this study is how to implement waste management in the new market of Punjung Island, Pulau Punjung district, Dharmasraya Regency based on Perda Kabupaten Dharmasraya Nomor 9 Tahun 2015 concerning Waste Management and what are the inhibiting factors for implementing waste management in the new market of Pulau Punjung, Pulau Punjung subdistrict, Dharmasraya Regency. Based on Perda Kabupaten Dharmasraya Nomor 9 Tahun 2015 concerning Waste Management. However, this type of research uses empirical juridical methods, from its descriptive-analytical nature, while the data collection tool in this research is through interviews and observations relating to the Implementation of Waste Management in Pasar Baru Pulau Punjung, Pulau Punjung District, Dharmasraya Regency Based on Perda Kabupaten Dharmasraya Number 9 Tahun 2015 concerning Waste Management. In terms of the implementation of waste management at Pasar Baru Pulau Punjung, Pulau Punjung District, Dharmasraya Regency, it can be seen that every day there is always garbage scattered in the Market area, where at the market location there is still a buildup of garbage that makes garbage scattered. in landfills, either in stalls, shops, or in waterways in the market area. In the process of environmental management and market cleanliness by the Environmental Service of the Nagari Government, it is not yet fully optimal in tackling the amount of waste in Pasar Baru Pulau Punjung, Pulau Punjung District, Dharmasraya Regency, where there are still some obstacles or obstacles, namely Internal obstacles, namely the lack of waste storage facilities, such as a garbage around the kiosk, while the external obstacle is the lack of public awareness where buyers and traders at Pasar Baru Pulau Punjung, Pulau Punjung Subdistrict, Dharmasraya Regency dispose of garbage in its place.
