Abstract
Indonesia's electricity plants mostly use off-renewable resources to meet the electricity needs of people or industries such as coal. This crisis problem requires that we seek a fuel alternative to replace coal or at least reduce coal consumption. One of them biomass fuel by applying co-firing methods. The co-firing process aims to raise thermal energy in the boilers, and therefore it is hoped to increase the value of biomass fuel calories and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from coal combustion. The application of research uses a comparative analysis method that will compare the efficiency of the boiler thermal using the co-firing method with the boiler thermal efficiency without using the co-firing method. Analysis shows the impact of adding biomass waste as boiler fuel, showing thermal efficiency that is not far from 44.767% to 43.40%. It also affects emissions from co-firing using cofiring methods by using co-firing methods, with a reduction and increase in some of its analysis parameters, as the value of SO 2 iv fell from 231.66 mg/ nm 3 fell to 223.8 mg/ nm 3 and an increase in the O 2 concentration value of 3.37% increased to 4.41%
