Abstract

Since COVID-19, the process of teaching and learning should take place virtually or online. The aimed of this research to know the opinion of third semester students of English Language Education Department of UIR about the using of Zoom application on students’ speaking ability during online learning. This research was using the qualitative method in order to describe the students perception using zoom application on students speaking ability. The participant of research were 55 students of the third semester students in English Language Education Department of UIR. The research instruments of this research using questioner to obtaining the data. The research findings of this research showed that most of students gave positive responses about using the Zoom application on their speaking ability. The researcher found that 74.97% of students agree that they have a good attitude towards using the Zoom application and they enjoy using the Zoom application during the online speaking class. Then, 71.63% of students agreed if they got a positive impact from using the Zoom application. Using the Zoom application can help students practice their speaking skills. The Zoom application was able to improve students’ speaking skills. The researcher got a percentage of 73.08%. Most students agree that using the Zoom application can improve students’ speaking skills during online learning. The last, students' challenges using zoom application was 72.86% of students agree that using the Zoom application challenging to use during online speaking class.
