Abstract

The low quality of the housing environment and the provision of public open space, psychologically has caused the mental condition and social quality of the community to deteriorate and suppress, both aspects are very influential on the function and benefits of the existence of a green open space therefore in solving these problems requires immediate attention from government. The purpose of this study was to determine the function and benefits of green open space in Kampung Bandar Village. The research method in this study uses quantitative descriptive methods. The sample used in this study amounted to 100 respondents in the Taman Singgah Tuan Kadi and 100 respondents in Taman Leighton 3. The sample used was the community who used the park by distributing questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that the functions and benefits of green open space in Kampung Bandar Village, for the category of functions, aesthetic functions in Taman Leighton 3 are the most chosen, with a mean value of 4.37 and the least is ecological functions. who are in the Taman Singgah Tuan Kadi with a mean value of 3.82, while for the category of benefits, the direct benefits that are in the Taman Singgah Tuan Kadi are the most chosen, with a mean value of 4.14 and the least is a direct benefit that is located in Taman Leighton 3 with a mean value of 3.60. So the Pekanbaru City Government needs to reformulate it to provide convenient and adequate facilities.
