Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the interaction effect and the main effect of quail manure and banana weevil POC on the growth and production of shallots. This research has been carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Jalan Kaharuddin Nasution No. 113, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. The study was carried out for 4 months starting from June to September 2021. This study used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors. The first factor was the provision of quail droppings consisting of 4 levels, namely: 0, 75, 150, 225 g/polybag and the second factor was POC Banana Cob which consisted of 4 levels, namely: 0, 5%, 10%, 15%, the parameters observed were relative growth rate of plants, plant height, number of leaves, age of harvest, number of tubers per clump, wet weight per clump, dry weight per clump, tuber weight loss and tuber grade. The data were statistically analyzed and presented with the Honest Significant Difference Test (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results of the study concluded that the interaction of quail droppings and POC banana weeds had an effect on: wet weight of tubers per clump, dry weight of bulbs per clump, tuber weight loss, and grade of shallots. The best treatment was a combination of 150 g/polybag quail droppings and 15% banana weevil POC. The main effect of quail droppings has a significant effect on all observation parameters, the best treatment is a dose of 150 g/polybag. The main effect of POC banana weeds on all parameters observed, the best treatment was 15%.
