Abstract

This study aims to determine the interaction effect and the main effect of the utilization of coconut dregs waste and NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer in increasing the growth and production of mung bean. This research has been carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Pekanbaru City, for 4 months starting from June to September 2021. This study used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors. The first factor is Coconut Dregs Waste, consisting of four levels, namely, no factor; 0; 0.5; 1.0 and 1.5 kg/plot. The second factor is NPK 16:16:16, consisting of four levels, namely 0, 10, 20, and 30 g/plot. Parameters observed were plant height, relative growth rate, net assimilation rate, active root nodules, age of harvest, weight of 100 seeds, weight of dry seeds per plant. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction effect of coconut pulp waste and NPK 16:16:16 was significant on harvest age, net assimilation rate, relative growth rate, weight of 100 seeds, and weight of dry seeds per plant. The best treatment was the combination of coconut dregs at a dose of 1.5 kg/plot and NPK at a dose of 30 g/plot (K3N3). The main effect of coconut pulp was real on all observation parameters with the best treatment of 1.5 kg/plot. The main effect of NPK 16:16:16 was significant on all observation parameters with the best treatment of NPK 16:16:16 at a dose of 30 g/plot.
