Abstract
The base of the denture is the part of the denture that is in direct contact with the oral mucosa and where the dental factoring is located. Although there are many types of materials used, generally the base of dentures is made of acrylic resin. Acrylic resins used in restorative dentistry are the most popular base materials of dentures, since they have good optical properties and a small solubility in body fluids (Raszewski, Zbigniew and Danuta Nowakowska. 2013). Chicken egg shells have been used as a resource for calcium in the production of nutrients. To extract calcium from chicken egg shells, you can use 2 ways, namely physically and chemically. The main advantage of chicken egg shells is that they are cheap and abundant in quantity (Sanmuang, Sasiwimon, et al, 2008). After conducting impact testing, the highest yield was obtained on the powder composition of 10% with a value of 0.493 j / mm² and the lowest result in the powder composition of 30% with a value of 0.388 j / mm². As for the hardness, the highest yield was obtained at a powder composition of 30% with a value of 324.5 kg / mm² and the lowest yield on the powder composition of 10% with 180.6 kg / mm². After making microstructure observations, the result of a powder composition of 30% with a small spread of eggshell powder compared to a powder composition of 20% and 10% with a large spread of eggshell powder and there are voids or air cavities.
