Abstract
Additives are materials that are added to motor vehicle fuel, both gasoline engines and diesel engines. The addition of additives in Diesel fuel aims to increase fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. In this study, the Diesel fuel used was B30, Dexlite and Pertamina Dex, with the addition of an additive 0.2 pill/liter to the ISUZU TLD 54 Diesel motor. The results showed that the highest fuel consumption was 3.19 kg/hour at Dexlite fuel, while the lowest fuel consumption is Pertamina Dex fuel, which is 1.08 kg/hour. Due to the addition of additives, it affects fuel consumption, cleans crust, protects the engine from friction and eliminates knocking, so that fuel consumption will be smaller or more efficient. The results of exhaust gas emissions of Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) are highest in Diesel fuel without additives and at 500 rpm, while the addition of 0.2 Pills/Liter of Additives reduces the toxic levels of Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) and 2000 rpm rotation. Because additives can also reduce toxic levels in exhaust emissions
