Abstract

Technological advances in the automotive sector have caused the automotive industry, especially in the field of motorcycle production, to compete in creating innovations such as creating motorcycle variants that have excellent performance, fuel efficiency, and are environmentally friendly. This can be done by maximizing the performance of the ignition which is useful for increasing the sparks from the CDI (Capacitor Discharger ignition) and spark plugs so that the fuel can burn perfectly. Complete combustion will cause the motor performance to increase. The purpose of this study was to determine the ratio of torque, power and fuel consumption on a Honda Revo 100 cc motorcycle produced from standard CDI and CDI racing variations as well as three types of spark plugs, namely standard spark plugs, platinum spark plugs and iridium spark plugs. Testing the performance of motorcycles is carried out by using a dynotest and exhaust emission tests by using a gas analyzer. The results showed the effect of engine performance using two variations of CDI with three different types of spark plugs. For the greatest power produced by standard CDI with iridium spark plugs of 6.8 hp, while the racing CDI with iridium spark plugs is 6.8 hp. For the highest torque on a standard CDI, iridium spark plugs produce a torque of 7.06 Nm, while for the highest torque on a racing CDI with iridium spark plugs it produces a torque of 7.13 Nm. In the test results, the lowest fuel consumption was produced by standard CDI with a spark plugs standard of 0.362 kg/hour and the highest was produced by CDI racing with iridium spark plugs of 0.813 kg/hour. And the use of variations of CDI and spark plugs can reduce exhaust emissions produced. This is possible because the combustion of fuel in the combustion chamber becomes more complete.
