Abstract

Biogas is one type of alternative energy that can replace the use of fossil fuels Biogas is produced from the natural decomposition of organic matter. When organic matter is exposed to an oxygen-impermeable environment, the gaseous mixture within it is released. Most of the gas released in this process is 50-75% methane. This study has several purposes. That is, the retention time (fermentation), biogas pressure value. Knowing the results of biogas from bagasse waste. Here using a fixed dome digester measuring 351 the composition of the ingredients for making biogas itself is 30% sugar cane bagasse, 15% starter (cow dung) and 15% water. This research method uses a fixed dome digester which aims to measure thepressure and the amount of biogas produced from bagasse waste. The retention time obtained during the study was 20 days. Digester biogas generator produces data: manometer water level (19cm), the amount of pressure generated (103183.3 Pa) volume of biogas produced (0.255 m). The biogas produced during the fermentation lasts for 4 minutes 55 seconds with a blue flame and sometimes emitsred sparks. This indicates that the biogas produced still contains a small amount ofwater
