Abstract

The people of Pulau Burung sub-district in general are coconut farmers and their main income depends on coconut farming. Hybrid coconut is a type of early coconut that has high productivity. This study aims to analyze: (1) Characteristics of hybrid coconut farmers.(2) The use of production factors, costs, revenues, profits and efficiency of hybrid coconut farming, and (3) Marketing channels and institutions, marketing functions, costs, margins, profits and marketing efficiency of hybrid coconuts. This study used a survey method, when the research was carried out from June to December 2020, the research site was in PulauBurung District, Indragiri Hilir Regency. Sampling was done by simple random sampling, the sample of hybrid coconut farmers was 56 farmers. This research uses descriptive qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. The results: the average age of hybrid coconut farmers at productive age is 48 years, education is 9 years or equivalent to graduating from junior high school, farming experience is 22 years and the number of dependents in the family is 3 people. 2. Average use of production factors per hectare: 148 stems of plants, 68.34 kg/year of urea fertilizer, 38.76 kg/year of SP-36 fertilizer, 60.63 kg/year of kiserite fertilizer, 49.97 kg/year of KCL fertilizer yr, and borax 3.30 kg/yr. The use of herbicides Gramoxon 1.20 liters/year, Herbatop 0.33 liters/year, Pilar UP 0.83 liters/year, Ken Up 0.83 liters/year, Ken Up 0.64 liters, round dup 0.11 liters/year and insecticide regen 0,58 liter/year. The use of labor is 30.90 HKP. The production cost incurred is Rp. 5,286,320/ha/Year, where the fixed cost is Rp. 43,502/ha/yr and variable costs Rp 5,242,181/ha/yr. The average hybrid coconut production per hectare is 10,098 kg/year with farmer acceptance of Rp. 14,765,196/ha/Year and an income of Rp. 9,478,876/ha/Yr. Farming efficiency is 2.79. In the marketing subsystem, the marketing of hybrid coconuts consists of one marketing channel, namely from farmers - farmer groups - factories. Not all marketing agencies perform a marketing function. The total cost of marketing the farmer [18.06, 15/8/2022] mujikopau: marketing the farmer group is Rp. 150/kg with the following details: weighing 50/kg, loading 75/kg and grading 25/kg. The total marketing cost in each year is Rp. 412,255,350 with the number of round coconut purchases as much as 2,747,369/kg/year. The marketing margin of Rp. 183/kg or Rp. 502,951,527 per year. The profit of the farmer group is 33.33/kg or Rp. 91,603,139 per year, marketing efficiency of 11.34%.
