Abstract

Cassava Chips Agroindustry has one of the businesses that performs processing of cassava raw materials into cassava chips. Teguh Cassava Chips Agroindustry Business that focuses on the food industry, namely cassava chips. Along with the increase in population as consumers of snacks such as cassava chips, it is necessary to develop the agroindustry business activities to gain higher profits. This study aims to analyze: (1) Characteristics of entrepreneurs and business profiles (2) Use of raw materials, processing processes, production costs, production, prices, income and business efficiency of cassava chips agroindustry (3) Strategies for developing cassava chips agroindustry"Teguh Business". Case study method was used on the Teguh Cassava Chips Agroindustry Business in Sialang Rampai Village, Kulim District, Pekanbaru City. This research was conducted for 6 months from October 2021 to March 2022. The determination of respondents was carried out by census on 9 employees and including entrepreneurs. Source of data from primary data and secondary data. The type of quantitative and qualitative data was used. The results of this study indicate that the age of the entrepreneur was 50 years old and in the productive age, the entrepreneur's education level was 12 years equivalent to high school, with a 5 family numbers, the entrepreneur's experience was 12 years. This Teguh Cassava Chips agroindustrybusiness hassmall scale industry, with a business working capital of Rp. 800,000. The production cost per process and a month were respectively Rp. 1,903,077 and Rp. 19,030,768 with 10 times production process a month. Cassava chipsproduct was 126 Kg/production process while for a month was 1,260 with a selling price was Rp. 25.000/Kg. The gross income per process and a month were respectively Rp. 3,150,000 and Rp. 31,500,000 and net income was Rp. 1,246,923/production process and Rp. 12,469,232 per month. The efficiency of cassava chips agroindustry business (RCR) was Rp. 1.66 and net income was Rp. 0.66. In other words, the cassava chips agroindustry was profitable and feasible because have efficiency value greater than 1. The S-O (Strength and Opportunities) strategy was chosen with production process was carried out continuously by utilizing abundant raw materials and the availability of products and various sizes at affordable prices so that the products can be widely marketed.
