Abstract

The type of research is a descriptive survey through a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques carried out by conducting interviews, observations, and documentation. The collected data are presented systematically and analyzed according to their respective criteria for further research conclusions drawn. The results of the study concluded that the empowerment of watermelon farmers by the government of Sialang Indah Village, Pangkalan Kuras District, Pelalawan Regency has been going quite well. Access indicators; the village government has tried to bring in PPL workers to improve the quality of farmers, direct and indirect communication has been formed. Indicators of participation, in community empowerment, the Sialang Indah Village government has urged farmers to form groups and has facilitated farmers by presenting PPL workers. However, the most important thing that has not been facilitated by the village government is the use of land cultivated by farmers who have not been licensed by the company and the fulfillment of farmers' needs obtained from outside the village. control indicator; The village government has not implemented data collection and supervision of watermelon farmers, so the village government does not have complete data on watermelon farmers in Sialang Indah Village. Equivalence indicators; the village government has given equal rights and opportunities to all farmers to get empowerment. X
