Abstract

In this study, it discusses the moral values contained in the procession of riding the crib in the Langgam community tradition, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province. In the Naik Buai tradition, there are moral messages that are conveyed, one of which is about local knowledge where the community is introduced to several customs that are directly connected to the teachings of the Islamic religion. The theory used in this study according to Nurgiyantoro (2013) which morals are categorized into several relationships including the relationship between living things and the Creator, the relationship between living things, the relationship between living things and themselves and the relationship between living things and the environment. The results of this study reveal that in the naik buai tradition there are moral values that are categorized into several relationships, including the relationship between living things and the Creator, the relationship between living things, the relationship between living things and themselves, and the relationship between living things and the environment. In the relationship with the Creator where there is a moral value that aims to be pious to Allah SWT, this is known from the activities of a piece of land in the mosque, which means educating children as early as possible so that they are diligent in carrying out the obligatory prayers five times a day in congregation in the mosque. diligent in reciting and have good morals in the midst of life can also carry out the pilgrimage to Mecca. Then, the relationship between living things and themselves, namely candles as meaningful lights in life, it is hoped that children can become lights or provide benefits to other humans where they live later.
