Abstract

Water produced been contacted with hydrocarbon for a long times ago, and it was contained the chemical characters such as salt, oil, and fat included inorganic-organic that can contaminate the environment if the treatment not used. The porpuses of this research are to know of turbidity and oil- grease absorption efficiencies from rice husk active carbon (RHAC). And to know the absorption and filtration results of each media's that were used of the parameters were included in water produced such as, oil-grease, turbidity, water pH, and temperature, and to compare the final result of test by using silica sand, walnut, and NaOH's RHAC for silica sand, walnut, and H2SO4's RHAC. The approach of this research was made the active carbon from rice husk which was activated with chemical process used NaOH 0.1 M, and H2SO4 0.1 M activators. The next process are used the absorption and filtration methods with made the thread of water treatment plant which had three cartridge filters there are silica, RHAC, and walnut, that will be contacting with water produced. Based of the results of the NaOH's RHAC, it had 94.81% of turbidity absorption efficiency, and 83.33% oil-grease. In H2SO4's RHAC had 95.15% of turbidity absorption efficiency and 85.41% oil-grease. The result that got of silica's test are turbidity 11.7 NTU, oil-grease 18 mg/L, water pH 7, temperature 28°C. The results of walnut's test are turbidity 14.9 NTU, oil-grease 9 mg/L, water pH 7.29, temperature 27.9°C. The results of NaOH’s RHAC are turbidity 13,8 NTU, oil-grease 8 mg/L, water pH 7,60, temperature 28,1℃. The results of H2SO4's RHAC are turbidity 12,9 NTU, oil-grease 7 mg/L, water pH 6,80, temperature 28℃. The last result test which more effective is the test by using silica, walnut, and H2SO4’s RHAC with the turbidity 12,1 NTU, oil-grease 6 mg/L, water pH 6,90, temperature 28℃.
