Abstract
This research is motivated by the low level of students' scientific literacy. This study aims to 1) develop instrument to assess scientific literacy using two-tier multiple choice, 2) determine the validity of the instrument and 3) determine the feasibility of instrument to assess scientific literacy using two-tier multiple choice. This research was conducted used the R&D design with Borg and Gall model. Data was collected by using validation sheet, test and questionnaire. Validaton sheet are used to carry out validations test and quality of the instrument by expert, the test was used to conduct limited trial by 27 student to determine realibilty, differentiator, difficulty,and distractor. The questionnaire are used to determine the feasibility of instrument by involving 5 teacher’s and 47 student’s. The results of the study indicates this instrument was valid with the CVR and CVI are 1, reliability of 0.85 (high), the feasibility scores are by teachers 89,57% and 80,43% by students with very good criteria. It can be concluded that the instrument have good quality and suitable or feasible to assess scientific literacy of student.
