Abstract

The title of this research is the existence of Badeo Treatment Ritual in Petalangan Tribe Community in Betung Village, Pangkalan Kuras District, Pelalawan Regency. With the formulation of the problem How is the Existence of Badeo Treatment Rituals in the Petalangan Tribe Community in Betung Village, Pangkalan Kuras District, Pelalawan Regency. This study aims to determine the existence of Badeo Treatment Rituals in the Petalangan Tribe Community in Betung Village, Pangkalan Kuras District, Pelalawan Regency. The method used is descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques namely observation, interview and documentation techniques. The theory used in this research is the theory of the Hamidy Law (2002: 31). Based on the results of the research that the author did, the Badeo treatment ritual was a treatment ritual carried out to treat diseases caused by unseen spirits. When viewed from the historical aspect of the existence of this Badeo treatment ritual, it has existed since the time of the previous ancestors but was officially appointed and preserved in 1984. From the religious aspect of the existence of the Badeo treatment ritual, according to religious leaders, there are violations because it involves supernatural spirits. Judging from the aspect of customs, the existence of this Badeo treatment ritual has indeed become a habit and tradition for previous people until now, but over time, this Badeo treatment ritual is rarely done. Judging from the community aspect, the Petalangan people in Betung Village accept the existence of this Badeo treatment ritual to treat diseases. The offerings in the Badeo treatment ritual are mat, lady, dian, betih, agarwood, smoked and mayang betel nut.
