Abstract

Representation of Mother's Role in Character Development Dimensions in Dancow's Mother's Day Advert with Semiotic Analysis of Ferdinand De Saussure Hendra Widianto 139110027 This research is motivated by the existence of milk advertisements which not only promote the product but also contain meaning and messages such as the Dancow advertisement, the Mother's Day version of Dancow milk advertisement which is displayed on the Youtube Channel Official Dancow Id with a duration of one minute with a subsricabe of 35.9 thousand. in the ad there is also a hashtag, namely #terbaikkarenabunda Dancow Mother's Day 2019 OST. Nadin Amizah with 142,610 viewers. With the caption “Thank you, Mother, for always giving the best for your little ones. Although sometimes her wishes are different from what you want.Keep supporting your little one's interest so that he can be the best. �. To find out the representation of the mother's role in building character, the researchers looked through the semiotic study of Ferdinand De Saussure through signs, signs and markers that in the Dancow advertisement, the one-minute version of Dancow's milk advertisement indirectly had a message that was contained, especially in character building. refers to the five aspects of character development that have been determined, there are three elements in it, namely a mother doing character development by providing good examples so that it maximizes the development of the child's brain, a mother helps to form a good character in the child starting by teaching children by building a sense of independence within the child. In building the character of a child a mother uses good communication and correctly this is useful for establishing a closeness between the child and the mother.
