Abstract

From the case handling data available at the Kuan Singingi Police Narcotics Crime Unit, cases of psychotropic methamphetamine from time to time in the Kuantan Singingi Police jurisdiction show a good trend in which there has been a decrease in the number of cases from year to year because the police have carried out law enforcement and countermeasures quite well. Starting from the background of the problems of this research, two problems can be formulated, namely: How are the efforts to overcome the crime of abuse of psychotropic methamphetamine in the jurisdiction of the Kuantan Singingi resort police, and what are the obstacles in efforts to overcome the crime of abusing psychotropic methamphetamine in the police jurisdiction. Kuantan Singingi Resort. This research uses a sociological legal research type, in other words, the research conducted is field research conducted at the Kuantan Singingi Police Resort. The data used in this thesis were obtained through interviews, questionnaires, laws and regulations, books, journals, articles, theses, expert opinions, and internet media. Then all the data that has been obtained, was analyzed normatively qualitatively, after that it was concluded through the deductive method. Based on the results of the study, it was obtained that there were several efforts made by the Kuantan Singingi resort police to overcome the crime of psychotropic abuse, namely: First, through pre-emptive efforts. Second, with efforts to overcome based on restorative justice. Third, make repressive efforts. There are also several obstacles to carrying out these countermeasures, namely, the lack of human resources in the Kuantan Singingi Police drug unit, then the lack of technological facilities and infrastructure, and also the lack of reports from the community.
