Abstract
This study aims to investigate the influence of the family environment on students behaviorsat SMPN 1 Rokan IV Koto Rokan Hulu. The type of this study is a quantitative correlation research. The background of the study is that there are some students who have bad morals or behaviors. The problem formulation of the study is whether there is an influence of the family environment on students behaviorsat SMPN 1 Rokan IV Koto Rokan Hulu. The subject of the study is the students at SMPN 1 Rokan IV Koto Rokan Hulu, and the object of the study is the the family environment on the students behaviorsat SMPN 1 Rokan IV Koto Rokan Hulu. The population of the study consists of 225 students with a sample of 144 students. This study has two variables, namely the family environment (variable X) and the students’ behaviors (variable Y). The data collection techniques of the study are questionnaires and documentation. The results of the study show that there is an influence of the family environment on the students behaviorsat SMPN 1 Rokan IV Koto Rokan Hulu. Based on the results of simple linear regression analysis that a significance value is less than 0.05, or 0.001 <0.05, so the alternative hypothesis is accepted. The magnitude of the influence of the family environment on the studentS behaviors is 0.079 or 7.9% categorized as very low because it is in the range of 0.00-0.199 in the correlation coefficient interpretation table, while the remaining 92.1 is influenced byother factors. Thus the alternative hypothesis is accepted, and the level of the relationship between the family environment and the students behaviorsat SMPN 1 Rokan IV Koto Rokan Hulu is in the very low category.
