Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the efforts made by the police in dealing with illegal racing gambling in Teluk Kuantan , Kuantan Singingi Regency. This type of research is a type of qualitative descriptive research. The research location in this research will be done by the author in Teluk Kuantan, Kuantan Singingi Regency. Key informants in this study are the police and informants of this study are the perpetrators of illegal racing, the community, municipal police and community. The data collection in this study used interviews and documentation. Based on the research results it is known that the efforts made by the Teluk Kuantan Police in tackling the crime of gambling against illegal motor racing namely by prioritizing efforts to prevent illegal motorbike racing actions that occur in Kuantan bay, namely carried out in two ways, including (1) Preventive measures (prevention) includes: providing counseling or outreach on the orderly traffic, conducting vehicle operations, conducting patrols that are sustainable or sustainable in places prone to illegal racing, guarding at posts prone to illegal racing . (2) Repressive measures (action) include: following up on reports from the public about the existence of illegal racing which is held somewhere, coordinating with the police to carry out raids, the perpetrators who are caught are secured in the Kuantan Bay Police Department to obtain information and conduct searches which are aimed at conducting searches to obtain evidence, provide guidance in Teluk Kuantan police so as not to repeat his actions that deviate from the law and lead further into crime, confiscate and ticket motorcycles used as illegal racing and motorcycles that not equipped with a Vehicle Registration Number, and a Driving License.
