Abstract

Concrete is a common material used in building construction because it is low in financing and also because of its strength and durability, but has a high tendency towards cracks. Cracks over a long period of time result in decreased concrete strength as well as extra spending on maintenance costs. There is one solution that is to utilize environmentally friendly microorganisms that can make concrete recover independently called self healing concrete. This study was conducted to look for the effect of the addition of vegetable waste extract and sikacim concrete additive on strong press concrete on the self healing concrete method. The research method applied is an experimental method, which is a method used to look for the effect of treatment on the self healing concrete method with the addition of vegetable waste extract and concrete sikacim concrete additive. The study used cube-shaped test objects measuring 15 cm x 15 cm x 15 cm as many as 27 test objects, with variations of vegetable waste extract of 0%, 3%, 5%, 7%, and 9% in lieu of partial cement and the addition of sikacim concrete additive by 1% of cement weight. For each variation amounts to 3 samples of test objects. The planned concrete is 28 days old with sample testing in the form of a strong press test and crack recovery test. Based on the results of the research analysis, strong press concrete using the self healing concrete method with the addition of sikacim concrete additive and vegetable waste extract aged 28 days and after cracks in bacterial variation 5% replacement of some cement experienced a strong increase in press. The results of visual observations show cracks that occur in the concrete slowly close the seriring with the treatment time.
