Abstract

This study aims to find out and analyze how the Framing of Juliari Peter Batu Bara's news related to the Covid-19 Bansos Fund Corruption case in Tempo weekly Magazine 22 December 2020 Edition and 25-31 Januari 2021 edition, which in this case is able to provide information to the public. Framing can be interpreted as a way to find out how the media frame or package issues or events through the text contained in the media content. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with an analytical approach of Framing Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki that uses 4 structures, starting from the Syntactic Structure, Script Structure, Thematic Structure and Rhetorical Structure. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, and also documentation. The results of this study indicate that Tempo weekly magazine emphasizes the issue of the development of corruption cases in the 19 th social assistance funds by the Minister of Social Affairs, namely Juliari Peter Batu Bara, starting from the identification of suspects to the detention process. And also basically the mass media plays a role in defining how reality should be understood and how reality should be explained in a certain way to the audience.
