Abstract

This research discusses the efforts to deal with delinquency by adolescents who drink alcohol in the village of Sei Simpang Dua. This is motivated by the frequency of teenagers hanging out on the side of the road, both late in the evening and at night, which results in drinking. Drinking alcohol is a habit and a natual thing for teenagers. Most of these juvenile delinquents are adolescents aged 17-22 years, and they are teenagers who live in the village of Sei Simpang Dua. However, in this study more want to know the efforts to handle juvenile delinquency. The author uses a qualitative case study approach that focuses on date collection throught field observations, as well as in-depth interviews with several key informants and additional informants. From this method found several efforts to deal with juvenile delinquency, namely : attachment (affection) there must be a very intense emotional attraction between parents and children. Youth commitment (responsibility) is expected to be able to participate in various activites commonly held by their place of residence, this is so that teenagers can be responsible for organizing activites. Involvement (involvement) the importance of youth involvement in positive activities with friends in their environment. Belief (obedience) provides an understanding of religion for children from an early age, meaning that the role of parents and society is very important in instilling religious values. In this case, the efforts made by parents, community and village officials, of course, already exist such as the village government to come and warn teenagers who hang out with their friends so that they are deterred and don’t do it anymore.
