Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare the soundness level of Islamic banks and conventional banks in Indonesia during the 2015-2019 period, using the RGEC method (Risk Profile, Good Corporate Governance, Earning, Capital). The number of banks that were the samples of this study were 2 Islamic Banks and 2 Conventional Banks. Sampling using purposive sampling technique with predetermined criteria. The data analysis method in this research is descriptive analysis to determine the overall health level of the bank and hypothesis testing using the independent sample t test. The results of this study found that conventional banks have a better health level than Islamic banks in terms of financing risk, earnings, capital, whereas in Good Corporate Governance there is no significant difference between Islamic bank and conventional banks.
