Abstract

As time goes by, oil and gas wells will run into a production decline due to problems in well, thus it is necessary to execute routine maintenance to control the production rate. Workover or well service job in Rantau is often found sticking problem on tubing completion with adverse impact on resulting tubing can't forcibly removed. The treatment for these sticking issues is known as pipe recovery undertaken by Weatherford, the service company. This research focuses on determining the cutters method which is effective, efficient, and success rates achieved in the total pipe recovery cost relationships. The problem analysis is done by collecting necessary data on sticking well so it is able to make free point calculation and determination with Free Point Estimation (EFP) through the stretch pipe and use a wireline manual logging tool known as Dual Sensor Free Point Tool. "X" well is applied workover perforation job, the well has sticking issue thus pipe recovery is undertaken in this well. The results of the analysis and calculations obtained the estimated value of the cut point at a depth of 2686 ft using the cutter method HJC-1460-4001 with an explosive mass of 13.9 g based on the calculation parameter of wall thickness tubing 2 3/8 of 0.167 in. Performance analysis on wells that experienced sticking after pipe recovery and forecasting production using the fetkovich method resulted in an oil flow rate of 164 bopd with an increase in the percentage of production through a decline curve analysis of 200%.
