Abstract

This study aims to produce a valid learning device based on the group investigation (GI) type of cooperative learning model on relation and function material in class VIII of SMP N 5 Siak Hulu. Learning tools are basic components/guidelines that must be prepared by educators to carry out learning. The tools developed are in the form of (RPP) Learning Implementation Plans and (LKPD) Student Worksheets. The development model used in this study was Borg & Gall (2003) which was modified into three stages, namely: (1) Research and initial information collection (2) Planning (3) Development of the initial product format. In the Borg & Gall (2003) model, researchers do not use other stages because at this time they are still in the atmosphere of the Covid-19 pandemic. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis which describes the data that has been collected and will be tested for validity. The validation of learning tools was carried out by 4 validators consisting of 2 lecturers of mathematics education at the Islamic University of Riau and 2 mathematics teachers at SMP N 5 Siak Hulu. The results of the data obtained from the validation of learning tools from the validator were then analyzed. From the results of the study, the results of RPP validation were an average of 83.57% included in the valid category. Likewise with the results of the validation of the LKPD on average with a value of 82.81% including the valid category. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the development of the device based on the cooperative learning model of the group investigation (GI) type on the relation and function material in class VIII SMP N 5 Siak Hulu has been tested for validity and deserves to be tested
