Abstract

Consumers in conducting E-Commerce transactions are very vulnerable, the ECommerce referred to by the author is Shopee. Shopee is a commercial electronic site whose head office is in Singapore owned by Sea Limited which was founded by Forest Li in 2009. Buying and selling online game accounts is currently quite popular, there are many websites for selling online game accounts and there is even a special application for selling online game accounts. However, in this online game account trading system, the products offered sometimes have specifications that do not match the description given by the seller. As for in this study, there are main problems to be discussed, namely, How is the Legal Protection of Consumers in Transactions Buying and Selling Online Game Accounts Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection and the second What are the Forms of Responsibilities related to Shopee Fulfilling Consumer Rights in Transactions Buying and Selling Mobile Legends Online Game Accounts. Based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. This legal research belongs to the type of survey research (Observational Research). This type of research method is intended to solve problems that exist at the present time by collecting data and compiling or clarifying it, then analyzing and seeing a legal reality in society to then obtain a result. The results of the research that the author obtained are: The legal protection provided by Shopee as a Marketplace relates to the protection of consumers who suffer losses caused by the seller, either due to default, unlawful acts, fraudulent burglary or other types of actions caused by business actors, the burden of liability the answer is borne by the business actor or other party causing the loss. As for the Responsibilities given by Shopee as a Marketplace in terms of providing protection to consumers, according to the author, it can be said to be able to fulfill the rights that should be given to consumers who experience losses.
