Octane numbers are numbers that show how much pressure can be given before the gasoline burns spontaneously. In the process of cooling engine radiators, octane values ​​and radiator effectiveness play an important role in the cooling process of engine radiators. This study aims to determine the effect of octane values ​​and the effectiveness of radiators on cooling engine radiators. In this study, the engine tested was Toyota Series 4K, variations in octane values ​​used were premium fuel, pertalite, pertamax turbo, with rotation (rpm) used was 1500 rpm, 2000 rpm, and 2300 rpm with a time of 5 minutes ( constant). The results of this study indicate that the given rotation is greater and the fuel with a high octane value results in increasing value of effectiveness. The highest effectiveness value has occurred with 2300 rpm and premium fuel which is equal to 0.321. While the effectiveness of 1500 rpm and turbo pertamax fuel has the lowest effectiveness value of 0.193. Thus it was concluded that the high octane value resulted in decreasing effectiveness values ​​so that the engine performance was better.
