Abstract

The Bagansiapiapi urban forest area has very interesting potential and is very good if it is able to take advantage of the existing potentials, if it is developed professionally. Bagansiapiapi City Forest with a land area of approximately 6 hectares located on the road of Rokan Hilir District, the object of this urban forest area has begun to be visited by visitors, especially on holidays, this is due to the facilities available in this urban forest area object. varied and interesting. These facilities include 9 gazebo units, 5 tree house units, a sports area in the middle of trees and trees and a children's playground, but it is still very unfortunate that the construction of toilets and mosques has not been realized properly. This study aims to find out what strategies are taken by the environmental service of the Rokan downstream district in developing the urban forest area and what factors are the obstacles in the process of developing the Bagansiapiapi urban forest area. This study uses a qualitative method with a SWOT analysis technique. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study are the strategy for developing the Bagansiapiapi urban forest area by the environmental service of the Rokan downstream district, there are 4 indicators, namely Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats, from the four indicators, many (strong) points are found in the Strength indicator, meaning the urban forest area. Bagansiapiapi is already quite good in terms of management but must be addressed for the future to be better. While the inhibiting factors in the management and development of the Bagansiapiapi urban forest area are financial resources (budget) and facilities.
