Abstract

This study aims to determine the prospect of a small banana fan business and its role in the absorption of labor in the city of Pekanbaru. This research is a type of descriptive research with a quantitative approach. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The number of respondents in this study were four respondents. The results showed that: 1) it is known that the prospect of small fan bananas in Pekanbaru City has a BCR value > 1, namely small business Pisang Kipas Kuantan II B/C 2.49, Pisang Kipas Manis Laris Manis B/C 3,45, Pisang Kipas 50 B/C 2,35, and Fan Banana Jack B/C 2,35. It can be interpreted that the small banana fan business is feasible to run and has good prospects for the development of the business. 2) Then for the absorption of labor, there are 8 workers who are absorbed in the prospect of this small banana fan business. And the value of the elasticity of employment opportunities is 1.39%. This means that if the small banana fan business in Pekanbaru City increases by 1%, the absorbed workforce will increase by 1.39%.
