Abstract
Laundry business is a micro, small and medium enterprise. Most of the laundry business actors in Selat Panjang, Meranti Regency, still do not know the bookkeeping system and keep their business book simple. This study aims to determine the understanding of laundry business actors in Selat Panjang, Meranti Island Regency on the application of accounting wheter it is in accordance with the basic concepts of accounting. The types and sources of data in this study are primary and secondary data. While the data collection technique is by distributing questionnaires and conducting interviews. This research uses descriptive analysis method where the researcher compares the data and information and then compares it with the basic concepts of accounting. The result of this study are the application of accounting to the laundry business in Selat Panjang, Meranti Islands Regency is not according with the basic concepts of accounting because the records made by the laundry business owners still use a cash basis and also still combine household cost in running their business.
