Abstract

The PKU-19 well is a Directional well with an inclination angle of up to 40.75 using an Artificial Lift Progressive Cavity Pump type 22E 1200, Currently there is a decrease in the production flow rate of the PKU-19 well, which is 135 bfpd, where the gross rate of production of the PKU-19 well is not fulfilled and is indicated by a low PKU-19 Productivity Index value of 0.17 bpd/psi. There are several methods for optimizing the Progressive Cavity Pump, including optimizing pump equipment using Variable Speed Drive, where the Variable Speed Drive can function to adjust the pump rotation speed as needed. The use of a Variable Speed Drive can extend the run life of the PKU-19 well pump without having to carry out pump replacement work which requires longer processing time and higher costs. Evaluation of the Progressive Cavity Pump PKU-19 well to determine the performance of the well, after evaluating the PCP PKU-19 pump, the maximum flow rate (Qmax) is 174 bpd, Total Dyanamic Head (TDH) is 2450 ft, motor load is 18.2 A, pump efficiency is 67% and Fluid Above Pump (FAP) is 411 m. Production optimization is done by increasing the RPM using a Variable Speed Drive. With an increase in the RPM of the Progressive Cavity Pump, there is an increase in the gross rate of 165 Bfpd. Justification is done with Motor Load which uses a 22kw electric motor which has a normal motor load range of around 17.1A – 20.9A. Progressive Cavity Pump motor load pump before optimization is 18.2 A and after optimization the motor load is 19.1A.
