Abstract

This study is motivated by the low outcomes of students in learning Fiqh subject at MTsN 1 Pelalawan. This study aims to investigate whether there is an effect of the think-pair-share method on the students’ outcomes in learning Fiqh at MTsN 1 Pelalawan in Pangkalan Kerinci district. The type of the study is quantitative research with a correlation approach. The subject of the study is the students in grade VIII at MTsN 1 Pelalawan and the object of the study is the students’ learning outcomes. The population of the study consists of 92 students who are in grade VIII at MTsN 1 Pelalawan with a sample of 92 students. The data collection techniques of the study are questionnaires, tests and documentation. While the data analysis techniques used are normality test, linearity test, and hypothesis test processed by the statistical analysis of a simple linear regression model and performed by the SPSS 22 software. Based on the results of the study, the alternative hypothesis stating that there is an effect of think-pair-share method on students’ learning outcomes is accepted with a significant value of 0.000. It means that there is an effect of think-pair-share method on students’ outcomes in learning Fiqh at MTsN 1 Pelalawan in Pangkalan Kerinci district. The magnitude of the effect is 0.182 or 18.2% which is in the range of 0.00-0.199 or in a very low category. While the remaining 81.8% is affected by other factors. It can be predicted that if the think-pair-share method increases, it will increase the students’ learning outcomes by 0.064 or 06.4% and conversely, if the think-pair-share method decreases, the students’ learning outcomes will also decrease by 0.064 or 06.4%.
