Abstract
This study aims to determine the principal's interpersonal communication to improve teacher performance and the factors that influence it at SDN 007 Gumanti Village. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Researchers used the methods of observation, interviews and documentation to collect the data needed in this study. From the research results, it is known that the principal's interpersonal communication to improve teacher performance at SDN 007 Gumanti Village, Peranap District has been carried out routinely and continuously. Interpersonal communication between the principal and the teacher is carried out directly in the form of face to face and indirectly in the form of telephone, sms, or letter. Supporting factors include: a good communication climate between the principal and teachers, the available communication media and the loyalty and dedication of each teacher. The inhibiting factor is the limited free time (teachers and principals) due to the work of the principal and the busyness of each personnel.
