Abstract

Film is a work of visual art that contains various meanings whose message content is adapted from the genre of the story that is raised in order to produce social messages, satire, propaganda, religious, cultural and so on. The development of the media at this time is the impact of the influence of modernization which is slowly starting to become a reference for the value of success in the media industry. Electronic mass media such as films are also affected by the progress of this modern era and are increasingly being demanded to always present a new breakthrough from what has been applied previously. The film Ghibah, which was directed by Monty Tiwa, is a horror genre with religious nuances to support the story. Tells the story of Firly Anggika Bolsterli) and her boarding house friends, Dina (Zsa Zsa Utari) and Ulfa (Arafah Rianti) who have a habit of often talking about people, even their habits are like routine. This study contains the moral message contained in the film Ghiba, by using the method of semiotic analysis of the Ferdinand de Saussure model, it can be revealed what moral messages are conveyed in this film using this method. This research is a type of qualitative research. The subject of this research is the film Ghibah and the object of this research is the moral message contained in the film Ghibah. Researchers chose this film because of the positive values such as the moral messages contained in this film such as: 1) Wise, 2) Self-Esteem, 3) Responsibility, 4) Empathy, 5) Devotion, 6) Friendship, 7) Faith.
