Abstract

This study aims to determine the management of performing arts in the performance of "Suluh Hati" by Fedli Azis at the Selembayung Theater Institute, Pekanbaru, Riau Province. Performing arts management will never be separated from the nature of management itself. The application of management functions in performing arts can assist artists in achieving their artistic qualities. The management functions used in this study refer to the management function of George R Terry (Hasibuan, 2017), which consists of planning, organizing, directing and controlling. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the concept of Miles and Huberman with source triangulation techniques to check the validity of the data. The results showed that the implementation of the planning function had been carried out properly, in accordance with the planning principles. The implementation of the organizing function has been carried out well, by determining the parts of the organization that are in accordance with the needs of the show and the members of the organization. The implementation of the directive function has been carried out well, by implementing good two-way communication between the leadership and members of the organization. The implementation of the control function has been carried out well, before production, during production and after the production of the "Suluh Hati" performance.
