Abstract

As users of goods delivery services, consumers need to get legal protection in order to protect their interests. Seeing this situation, the government issued a policy to regulate consumer rights through laws to protect consumer interests in consuming goods and/or services. The government policy is regulated in Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. Consumer protection laws have been implemented for a long time, but not all producers apply these policies in their economic activities. The main problem in this research is what factors cause delays or damage to goods in delivery and how is the form of responsibility of PT Yapindo Transportama in the event of damage to goods during delivery. The research method that the researcher uses is empirical legal research which in other words is sociological legal research where this research is carried out directly in the field. With the nature of the research, namely analytical descriptive, this method is used to see a legal reality that is in the midst of society. The results of the research that the author obtained are Factors that Cause Damage and Delays in Delivering Goods, among others, PT Yapindo Transportama Pekanbaru, has not carried out their duties in accordance with the rules, Density of Number of Consumers There are obstacles in the journey, Packaging is not good, Negligence of employees , Goods Transfer Process Errors in data and incompetent courier personnel, as well as problems in the warehouse and PT Yapindo Transportama Pekanbaru only promises a form of responsibility that they will replace damaged goods or delays in delivery but so far no consumers have received the right to compensation for their losses. Not in accordance with the rules of Law No. 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection in Article 4 paragraph (8) and the rules of the Consumer Protection Act as stated in Article 7 letter (g)
