Abstract

The research area is part of the Sangiran Site area of Central Java province which has an area of 59.21 km² (BPSMPS, 2017), using bone identification and taxonomy methods, Minimum Numbers of Individual analysis, fragment measurement, fragment condition, and weathering/ surface cracking. With the object of research in the form of: Hexaprotodon sp (mandibula dextra and caninus) with the condition of missing fragments such as the crown of the canine and in the right mandible the missing part is the incisura vasorum facialium, Crocodylus sp (cranium and mandibular dextra) in that section there are most of the teeth missing. missing from the root of the tooth to the crown of the tooth, Elephas namadicus (maxilla) intact, only fragments were eroded due to the sedimentation process, Bos sp (distal radius) the distal epiphyseal part was lost due to sedimentation, Bibos sp (cranium) was found intact only the skull missing faces, and Homo erectus (cranium) eroded fragments. Paleocology obtained in the Lower Pleistocene Pucangan Formation is swamp, while the Kabuh Formation in Middle Pleistocene age is tropical rain forest to open forest. Based on the phylogenetic tree of ancient animals, the current study area is Bos j. javanicus (Javanese bull), Bos sp (wild cow). While the extinct ones are Crocodylus sp (estuarine crocodile), Elephas sp (Javanese elephant), Hexaprotodon sp (hippopotamus), and Homo erectus (ancient human).
