Abstract

Water is the main need for humans and other living things. Human need for water is a daily need such as cooking, washing, bathing, drinking, fishing, livestock and others. The increasing population causes the need for clean water to also increase. The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution and direction of groundwater flow, the feasibility of physical and chemical groundwater quality, the distribution of groundwater quality, and the condition of groundwater facies in the Talang Mandi Village, Mandau District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. The parameters tested were color, taste, smell, temperature, dissolved solids (TDS), electrical conductivity (DHL) and pH. There were 20 well stations which were analyzed overall, the color of the groundwater was divided into 2, namely clear and cloudy, which was more dominant in the turbid color; The taste of ground water is divided into two, namely flavored groundwater and tasteless groundwater, which is more dominantly tasteless; there is odorless and odorless groundwater which is predominantly odorless; groundwater temperature ranges from 28.1–28.6°C; TDS values ranged from 133.1 mg/L – 985 mg/L; DHL values range from 222.2 S/cm - 1562 S/cm; and pH value 5.3 5.66. The results of groundwater facies analysis based on the Kurlov classification method, stiff diagram and piper diagram show 1 group of groundwater facies, namely; Ca(Mg) HCO3 which fills the southwest, southeast, northwest, west and northeast of the study area. Groundwater in the research area of the 20 well stations whose groundwater was taken, none of the stations met the requirements of Minister of Health Regulation No. 492/Menkes/Per/IV/2010 concerning drinking water quality and Permenkes No. 32 of 2017 concerning Environmental Health Quality Standards for Sanitary Hygiene Needs.
