Abstract
The design is the initial activity of a series in the process of a making products. The purpose of the design of this sailor stick palm machine is to simplify the process of bolting the palm oil stick. In the process of designing this machine, there are several stages, namely designing, explaining the task or function and designing the product concept (working drawings). Technical analysis includes analysis of power and speed that occurs on the shaft. The driving force of the sailor stick palm oil machine is planned to use an 0,5 HP electric motor and 1200 rpm rotation which is adjusted to the ability to whine the oil palm stick. The results of the production capacity of this palm leaf stick machine is 3,6 kg /hour, with machine dimensions, length 310 mm x width 525 mm x height 400 mm, using frame UNP iron with a thickness of 2 mm. The performance test results show that the machine can sharpen the palm leaves and the results of the linking are quite clean.
