Abstract
This is because the impact of accidents and occupational diseases is not only detrimental to the workforce, but also the company itself and has the potential to affect the company's productivity. In general, occupational safety and health refers to the interaction between the workforce and the machines or equipment used and the work environment in the company's operational and production processes. The use of technology and various kinds of chemical raw materials has a high level of risk of causing work accidents. In addition, occupational diseases can also be caused by high exposure to the work environment. As for this study, there are main problems that will be discussed, namely the Factors Causing the Occurrence of Work Accidents at PT. Pembangunan Dumai Development and the second is Legal Protection for Workers at PT. Pembangunan Dumai. And as the purpose of this research is the same as the formulation of the main problem, namely to find out the result of the formulation of the problem made by the researcher. This legal research belongs to the type of observational research. This type of research method is intended to solve problems that exist at the present time by collecting data and compiling or clarifying it, then analyzing and seeing a legal reality in society to then obtain a result. The result of the research that the authors obtained are the implementation of occupational health and safety protection for workers at PT. Pembangunan Dumai is quite good, there are only some employees who have work accidents while doing work caused by several factor is the delay from the workers themselves because they do not heed the instruction from the boss where he works within the obstacles accepted by the employer PT. Pembangunan Dumai in carrying out occupational health and safety, namely the absence of awareness of the workers about the dangers of the work being carried out and not agreeing with the application of the estabilished working relationship and workers not being given gifts. So works accident can occur, here and there also cause by caralessness in work.
