Abstract

This study aims to investigate whether there is an effect of blended learning model on students’ participation in learning Islamic Studies at SMAS Bina Siswa in Rokan Hilir. The type of the study is quantitative research with a correlational approach. The sample of the study is taken by using the Slovin formula with a margin of error of 5%. The population of the study consists of 111 Moslem students with a sample of 84 students. The data collection technique of the study is questionnaires. The results of the study show that the level of teacher mastery in applying the blended learning model is 87.13%. This value is included in the range 0.80-1.00 with a very high level. It means that the level of the blended learning model is 87.13% or very high. So, if the blended learning model is applied, a value of 0.8713 (87.13%) can be obtained. While the level of students’ learning participation is 76.23% which is in the range 0.60-0.799 with a high level. It means that the level of students’ learning participation is 0,7623 (76.23%) or high. The alternative hypothesis of the study is accepted, which states that there is an effect of blended learning model on students’ participation in learning Islamic Studies at SMAS Bina Siswa in Rokan Hilir. The magnitude of the effect of blended learning model on students’ learning participation is strong enough (0,427 or 42,7%) which is included in the range (0.40 - 0.5999), while the remaining 57.3% is influenced by other factors. It can be predicted that if the blended learning model is applied, it can increase the students’ learning participation by 0.654 or 65.4%.
