Abstract

This study aims to analyze: 1). Characteristics entrepreneur and business profile, 2). The use of production factors and facilities for broiler farming business, 3). Non-financial feasibility of broiler farming business, 4). Financial feasibility of broiler farming business and 5). Sensitivity analysis of broiler farming business. Case study research methods was the of a partnership pattern broiler farming business in Tanah Datar Village, West Rengat District, Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau Province and was carried out for 6 months starting from January to June 2022. The respondents were entrepreneurs and an employes. The Primary and secondary data sources with qualitative and quantitative data types were used. The data analysis by using quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis namely for (market and marketing, technical, management and organizational, legal and social and environmental aspects) and financial aspects through four investment criteria, namely (NPV, Net B/ C, IRR and Payback Period) and sensitivity analysis by using Switching Value. The results showed that the characteristics of entrepreneurs were in the productive age group with 50 years old, 12 years of education level, 4 years of business experience and 6 family numbers. This broiler farming business was classified as a medium-scale business, using equity capital and using a person of employe. This chicken farming business was seen from non-financial aspects such as market and marketing, technical, management and organizational, social and environmental aspects can be operated, but for the legal aspect it was not feasible to operate because there is no legal entity in this business license. Financial value of investment criteria with NPV 916,097,079> 0, IRR 51.58%> Discount Rate (12%), Net B/C 3,19>, 1 and Payback Period for 2 years 5 months < from project life (10 years) so that it was feasible to operated. Based on the results of the sensitivity analysis by using the Switching Value, broiler farms are more sensitive (sensitive) in term of a decrease in the selling price of broiler chicken with a decrease in NPV of 62.20%, a decrease in broiler production of 5.62% compared to an increase in operational input costs of Rp. 35.89%.
