Abstract

Kuok Village is a kelulut honey-producing area in Kuok District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. This study aims to analyze: (1) Characteristics of Kelulut Honey Bee Breeders (2) Kelulut Honey Bee Cultivation (3) Kelulut Honey Bee Business Income (4) Family Income Structure and Contribution of Kelulut Honey Bees Business to Family Income in Kuok Village, Kuok District, District Kampar. This research was carried out for 6 months starting from January 2022 to June 2022 in Kuok District, Kampar Regency. The sampling technique is census. The sample in this study were 27 people. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that the characteristics of Kelulut Beekeepers were 33-39 years old on average, high school education, 2 years farming experience, 4 family members and 2-10 boxes of kelulut honey bees. Kelulut Honey Bee Cultivation Technology includes the preparation of bee boxes/logs, hive media, colony transfer, production and harvesting, according to theory. The use of land use in general is 1 hectare, labor 2 people and business capital Rp. 17,000,000-21,666,667. The gross income of the kelulut honey bee business is an average of Rp. 3,660,555.56/month, which is obtained from the production of 6.66 liters/month with a selling price of 550,000/liter. The total net income received by kelulut honey bee breeders is an average of Rp. 3,283,820.87/month, that is, from the gross income minus the total cost of production (Rp. 484,029.11/month). The RCR value of 7.65>1, this indicates that the Kelulut Honey Bee business is efficient and feasible to cultivate. The household income structure of the Kelulut honey bee farmer is derived from the Kelulut honey bee farming (Rp 3,283,820,87/month), non farming (Rp 3,073,703.70/month) and farming (Rp 2,933,333.33/month). The largest contribution to farming comes from honey bee farming, which is 35.35%, while non-farming is 33.08% and household income from farming is 31.57%.
